New National Reintegration Co-ordination Secretariat for Returnees Reintegration

The  head of  International Centre for Migration Policy Development ICMPD, Madam Amala Abiokoye Nwalor said supporting the Government of the  Republic of Ghana will bring stakeholders and reintegration organisations and  actors in migration space in Ghana where they will come together under one platform with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) as top leading organisation to ensure that Ghanaian Returnees to receive necessary reintegration support.
Amala  was speaking during the handover Ceremony of the newly National Reintegration Co-ordination Secretariat for Returnees Reintegration in Ghana which was attended by the  National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Ghana, and  the  International Centre for Migration Policy Development  (ICMPM) and European Union (EU)  
The Director-General, Hon. Nana Agyemang Prempeh of the NADMO bemoaned the situation concerning the Returnees and said some Migrants left something home before labour migration and it is difficult for them to cope with the challenges in their situation.
Meanwhile the Director of Migration and Reintegration Department of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr Kofi Osei who during his welcome speech explained the purpose of the gathering.
Relatedly the head of Education International Relations, Justice Baako Ntarmah who represented the  Migrant Labour General Workers' Union International with her education-legal-counselling department Finnish-French Migrant Resource Centre (MLGWUI-FFMRC) was grateful for the partners for the establishment of the National Reintegration Co-ordination Secretariat for Returned Migrants  for national reintegration,  information and Returnees record/data keeping.
He asked all its Members, MLGWUI Country/Overseas Representives both in Africa and Diaspora to help inform their known Returning Migrants, Returnees and friends abroad to contact MLGWUI-FFMRC   Secretariat for their Registration for onward National Reintegration Co-ordination Secretariat data and necessary support.
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Ghana, jointly with the  International Centre for Migration Policy Development  (ICMPM) and European Union (EU)  held a handover Ceremony of the newly National Reintegration Co-ordination Secretariat for Returnees Reintegration in Ghana recently.
The Migration and Reintegration Department of NADMO is the project funded by the European Union through the framework of the Return and Reintegration Facility (RRF) with the aim of coordinating all reintegration activitives to the NADMO which is mandated by law to manage disasters and similar emergencies which include Deportees and Forced Returns established by Act ,927 (2016).
